Lemon

Paper lemon is a sour tasting fruit that is used daily in Indian food. This fruit is green when unripe and yellow when ripe. There are two main types of lemons, i.e. lemons and paper lemons. Paper lemons have many uses. It is made into syrup, pickles, etc. Lemon is a fruit.

The lemon tree is called Limb or Nimb. It is a bush. Where the leaf attaches to the stem, there is a small wing. The stem has small thorns. Flower and fruit occur in leaf axils. There are many types of lemons from the peel, that is. Thick bark, thin bark, yellow bark, green bark, smooth bark and coarse bark. There is a variety at Baghdad which is double in size and bears red fruits. The island of Sicily produces an immense crop of lemons. Sicilian lemons are exported to America and England.

There are many varieties of lemons, mahalung, idlimbu, jambir, kaggi limu, etc.

Lemon is a thorny tree with a height of 3–6 m. There is Its main trunk has many branches from below. The leaves are compound, palmate and unifoliate and the shape of the leaves is like a feather. There is a fork in the leaf sheath. Foliage is oval and 2–8 cm. long and 1·5–3 cm. is wide. It has many oil glands. Flowers are regular and bisexual. The stem is green and has 4-5 free lobes; The cluster is white and has 4-5 free clusters. The flower has 8-10 stamens arranged in a round circle. Jayang is composed of vertical and multiple, jointed lobes. The fruit is soft, orange (orange in texture) and juicy and contains 8–10 seeds. The peel of the fruit is thin.

Lemon juice contains high amounts of vitamin K (ascorbic acid) and small amounts of citric acid. The juice is sour in taste. Drinks like syrup are made from lemon juice and pickles are made from fruits. Lemon fruits are used to flavor jellies, marmalades and honey. Fruit peels are rich in pectin. Bark boiled in salt is effective in indigestion. The seeds are white and yield oil. These oils are used as lubricants and edible oils as well as in cosmetics.

Benefits of consuming lemon

1. To reduce obesity :- Consuming lemon with hot water every morning on an empty stomach reduces excess fat.

2. In case of pitta, taking lemon syrup daily increases appetite. Food is digested and stool is cleared.

3. Dried lemon mixed with honey and taken as chatan helps to stop hiccups and okari. If the limb is sore, lemon juice mixed with coconut oil is rubbed on the limb. And bathe with hot water. The volume decreases.

4. Rubbing lemon juice also has a good effect on dandruff and scalp.

5. Lemon for beautiful hair:

If the hair on the head or the skin on the scalp is oily, lemon is applied on it. Applying too much will bleach the hair.. but it would be good to apply some lemon juice on the roots of the hair by hand. Daily or continuous use of lemon on hair is done only as needed. Lemon juice makes dull hair shiny and bouncy. Hair becomes beautiful and fragrant without the use of artificial products. During hot days, sweat and dust make the hair dirty, so people wash their hair frequently. The right amount of it makes the hair shiny and smooth. Overuse can dry out hair.

Usage

It has many medicinal uses. Cut it upright and squeeze it with granulated sugar to stop okari. Ginger and lemon juice are consumed with sugar to stop stomach ache. It is very useful for indigestion. They are cut horizontally and heated on coals with sunth or saindhava (salt) and repeatedly sucked. Due to this, the problem of belching, ocari, flatulence etc. is reduced. In case of pitta, lemon juice is taken daily. It increases appetite, digests food and cleans stool.

If you do not want to eat food, it is useful if you eat lemon peel with peel.
