Bibba ( Marking Nut Tree ) (classical name: Semecarpus anacardium) also known as Bibba, Bhilawa, Bibwa, Marking Nut Tree etc. in English is a deciduous tree in the Anacardiaceae family. From the mentions in ancient Indian texts, it seems to be of Indian origin. This tree is found in Australia and East Indies along with India.

Bibba is a medium height tree ranging from 5 to 8 meters in height. The leaves are rough and smooth on top and slightly hairy on the back. The leaves are large in size, 15 to 40 cm in length and rounded at the tip. The flowers are small greenish white and yellowish. It has very short dekh. The bibia tree bears nuts like cashew nuts. They look yellow when ripe. This bonda is called Bimpti, Bibuti or Bibuti. Bonda contains edible gar, called Godambi. Godambi contains oil like cashew nuts, but it does not contain oil like bibba.

Medicinal uses
Since ancient times, in the rural areas of Maharashtra, especially in Konkan, it is believed that there is no other chemical or medicine like bibbya which gives instant benefits for various diseases. Bibutya, Godambaya and Bibbe are used in medicine.

The upper part of the bibba contains highly inflammatory but highly effective oil, it is very inflammatory. The seeds inside the pods contain a lot of nutrients. By using it, men’s semen increases quickly. Bibba should never be used by a person with a hot temperament. When a Tyal Nilaja wants to use bibba or a medicine containing bibba ingredients, he should completely avoid salt in food the day before, that day and the next day, so that the inflammatory oil of bibba does not cause side effects, does not cause problems. If Kataksha takes proper amount of ghee while taking Bibba medicine, Bibba will heal well.

For those who have sticky stools, Bhallatakahr powder taken at night after drinking salt water will give benefits. Those who have to drink polluted water for a long period of time, suffer from Bhallasava after meals. Bibba takes sanjeevani pills after meals if he has to drink bad water during monsoons.

Bibba flowers
When a bibba dabhan is pricked and held over a sweet oil lamp, the droplets of burning oil that fall out are called bibbya flowers. These tips are mixed with milk and given to drink with turmeric and granulated sugar. Initially one flower and then after two-four days two flowers are given while sleeping at night. This type is given in lung disease. It is very good in asthma.
